The Story of The Great Udaipur Craft
Before there was LAMAKHA, there was a small shop in the beautiful city of Udaipur.
Nestled among the culture, history, lakes, and craftsmanship of Rajasthan, that shop was known as The Great Udaipur Craft.
There were no grand plans.
No export offices.
No international buyers.
No global presence.
Only a deep love for craftsmanship and a belief that handmade products still had a place in a rapidly changing world.
Inside that small shop, leather was not just material.
It was possibility.
Every piece of leather was cut by hand.
Every stitch carried intention.
Every customer interaction was personal.
The days were long.
The challenges were many.
But the belief remained strong.

Many customers would visit while travelling through Rajasthan.

The foundation of this journey was built by my father, who dedicated years of hard work, perseverance, sacrifice, and craftsmanship to transform a local leather and handicraft shop into a growing global enterprise.
Today, I have the privilege of carrying that legacy forward.
As the current owner and custodian of LAMAKHA, my role is not simply to manage a brand, but to protect the values, craftsmanship, and purpose that brought us here.
